6 ‘n 90! Da Man does six reviews in ninety seconds.
2 Guns. It has all the elements found in a Tarantino film: a crazy diner scene, a non-linear timeline, and a couple of bickering anti-heroes exchanging clever quips. Unfortunately, what it doesn’t have is Quentin Tarantino.
The Sapphires. This film is a lot like a cover version of a classic American hit performed by a foreign band. Just different enough to be interesting, and while not particularly original, makes up for it with a lot of energy and heart.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. We are excited to present our very first listener review. How do the Percy Jackson films stack up to the series of books they are based on? Katarina Aguilar shares her enthusiasm for the books and a few misgivings about the film adaptations.
Elysium. Just how dreary and unpleasant is this third and final post-apocalyptic film of the summer? It makes the filmmakers of Oblivion and After Earth look like a bunch of Pollyannas looking at the future through rose-tinted glasses.

Cinema Misfits 
I wish there were only 3 post-apocalyptic movies this summer, but besides the ones you named there was also The Wold’s End, This is the End, World War Z, and I’d even include Pacific Rim in that category. But the 3 you did name all had strikingly similar plots.
I enjoyed the thrashing you gave Elysium. Another stinker in a summer filled with them.
Saw my first Fall movie the other day in Gravity and it definitely has a more interesting use of special effects than any of the summer space movies did.
You’re right. I guess after a while all the post-apocalyptic movies start to blend together. But you’ve gotta draw the line somewhere, and for me, I draw it at Pacific Rim. Monster movie? Apocalyptic vision? Transformers rip-off? It doesn’t matter. I’m not going.
