6 ‘n 90! Da Man reviews six films in ninety seconds.
The Spectacular Now. For the Misfits, it wasn’t all that spectacular–then, now, or later.
The World’s End. If the world’s got to end, this isn’t such a bad way to go: beer, robots, and laughs.
The Butler. Apparently, the butler didn’t do it–Lee Daniels did.
Oscar Predictions. This year there’s no need for The Misfits to resort to crystal balls, tarot cards, or souped-up DeLoreans in order to predict the Oscar nominations for Best Picture. The situation can probably best be summed up by quoting Claude Rains in Casablanca: “Round up the usual suspects.”

Enjoyed your nominations even if they’re not as outlandish as Quentin Tarantino’s picks for the ten best movies of the year (which you’ll be happy to know included The Lone Ranger.) There was one movie you forgot which I think has a chance to be nominated (at the very least in acting categories) Mud.
Of the movies you mentioned I’ve only seen The Fifth Estate ( a weaker version of Social Network which didn’t win, so you can cross that off the list) and Gravity which should win every technical award and I’d even be fine with it winning best picture as it has the most astounding special effects, but if it wins or is even nominated for best screenplay I’m out of here.
If we’d been making our own picks for the best films of the year (instead of trying to anticipate what Academy members will nominate for Best Picture), I guarantee you that Mud would have been one of our picks. It’s easily one of the best films of the year and has a great performance by McConaughey.
